Who Are we
The 23rd Foot Royal Welch Fusiliers Napoleonic Re-Enactment Group are a enthusiastic team of history researchers who strive to re-enact historical events and daily life of British soldiers through the period 1809-1812. We take great pride and time in ensuring that our uniforms and all items including the Campsite are authentic as is feesable.
How do we achieve this
In the UK Throughout the Year we provide displays to public at many large events, many including full working Living history camps and full scale battles. We also do many local events Including Cosmeston Lakes, Llanciach Fawr and Cardiff Bay.
We meet at regular drill practices in South wales to practice maneuvers and share information that we may acquire regarding uniform or many other details.
In Europe We annually travel to the continent to participate in events, re-creating battles of the Napoleonic era in their original locations including where the 23rd Royal Welch Fusiliers fought historically. The 23rd have taken part in many bicentenary anniversary events including Albuera, Salamanca, and Vittoria. In 2015 we shall be attending the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo.
